Title: Mark Huff - Gravity (EP) |
Description:
100% Guaranteed!!
It was his interest in his older bothers record collection that brought him to The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters and T.Rex. Several decades - and several releases - later one can still see how these early influences continue to inform his music; as well as his "road-ready" roots music background. Recent exposure as an opening act for Allison Moorer piqued the interest of Moorer's guitar player, Adam Landry, who offered to produce the 5 songs on Gravity, and the rest for his future full-length release. These tracks feature name worthy folks such as Bucky Baxter (Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle) on guitar, Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites) on bass and guitar, and Brad Pemberton (Ryan Adams) drums. Landry adds a fair share guitar and backing vocals on this powerful, well-crafted mix that finds Morrer chiming in on the roots rocker "In The Dark". Somebody give this guy a record deal! Track Listing: Digging A Hole/Gravity/Talkin' Insomnia Blues/In The Dark/Wrong Or Right. (Exodus Records) - Robinson, Miles Of Music

Jarret Keene from Las Vegas City Life had this to say about the new material. "...the results are pretty stunning -- not that I'd expect anything less from the man...Songs like 'Digging a Hole' and 'In the Dark' possess a bluesy swagger, bruising lyrics and hooks galore. Other highlights include the mystical angst of 'Talking Insomnia Blues,' which sounds like Daniel Lanois covering Leonard Cohen, and the truckin' pop-rock of 'Killing Me Slowly.' But 'Gravity' has the best and darkest line: "The heart is an evil machine."
